How the handicap works
1. Add the DOJO ratings of both players on each team.
2. Find the difference in combined team ratings.
3. Award the lower-rated team 1 starting point per 0.40 rating difference, rounded to the nearest whole point (maximum 5 points).
4. The lower-rated team serves first if it receives handicap points. Play to 11, win by 2, using side-out scoring.
Example: Team A totals 8.48; Team B totals 7.14. Difference = 1.34. 1.34 ÷ 0.40 = 3.35, rounded to 3. Team B starts up 3–0 and serves.
Ratings: previously supplied DOJO roster (October 5, 2026); not live-synced. Formula is a proposal for league testing, not an officially validated handicap model.
